Mia Stories
This happened two days ago. The kids were already in bed and I was ready for a night of scrapbooking. However, something was interrupting Mia's sleep. In the span of two hours Mia woke up three times and each time I had to calm her down and stay at her side until she closed her eyes. By the fourth time I had become frustrated. It was about 11 p.m. and I still wanted and needed to work. So she was crying and I laid down for a while next to her. She stopped but she wasn't falling back asleep. I got up and went back to the loft, leaving the door open and I thought she would go to sleep on her own since it was so late and she didn't take a nap at all during the day. At about 11:40 p.m. I heard these little steps and from my desk I turned around to see her little self standing behind me. She walked up with her big, tired eyes looking at me and her little mouth slightly turned down. In her arms she was carrying the two friends that were lying down with her: the hula girl and Emily, the rabbit. I felt so guilty. So without saying a word to her I scooped her up and carried her back to the bed. I laid her head on her pillow and turned off the lights. I had to kiss her face and her hand many times to say sorry. How could I have chosen scrapbooking over spending time with her when she needed me?

I don't think obsessed is the right word for it, but she loves writing the letter "A". It's the only letter she writes. Sometimes she makes an accidental "M" and she'll say excitedly, "Look, I made an M!" But she'll write the letter A over and over. Maybe it's because she can and she knows she's good at it.

And she draws faces. The other day I was putting away the laundry in her room while she was sitting on her bed drawing with her Magna-Doodle. I noticed she had made a sad looking face and I asked her why he was sad. She said, "Because it's raining," and she draw little lines all around him. Then she drew a line on his face and she said he was crying. I said, "Maybe he needs his Mommy." So she proceeded to draw another face that was the Mommy and her mouth was turned down. She said, "Look, she's sad too."

I didn't get around to posting these here, but these were my offerings last month for the KI Memories gallery, both using La Di Dah Courtyard (love the name and I love the stuff). This is another busy month with CHA coming soon.
